Are you covered this summer?

During the holiday season it's easy to get caught up in the celebrations, but it's important you have adequate health cover in case things don't go the way you plan. That's why PCU and Manchester Unity have created a special health cover package for Police Credit Union members. So you know that if anything unexpected happens, you are covered!

The PCU health plan covers all the necessities like hospital, dental, optical and physio. If you ever do need medical treatment in hospital, you choose your own doctor and a hospital that is convenient to you. You also have added extras, like Manchester Unity's Keepfit, where benefits are paid on things like sports shoes, and other sporting equipment.

Manchester Unity's PCU Health Plan has a diverse range of health cover options - so whether you're single, you have a family or you're about to retire there's a health cover to suit your stage of life.

Manchester Unity has been caring for the community for over 160 years and is one of the largest and oldest Friendly Societies in Australia. As a not-for-profit organisation, it's owned and run by its members, which means surpluses are given back to members so you know you are in good hands.

Never a better time to join

Recent legislative changes have made private health insurance even more affordable for every Australian.

The Lifetime Health Cover scheme came into effect on 1st July 2000 and means anyone over the age of 31 (and under 65) who didn't take out private health cover before this date will pay an extra 2% for every year they are over 31 (and under 65).
The Federal Government's 30% Rebate on private health insurance ensures that your premiums remain affordable.
If you are a high income earner and you take out private health insurance you will avoid paying an additional 1% Medicare levy. Singles earning $50,000 a year or more and couples or families earning $100,000 or more without private health insurance, are required to pay the levy.
