New Website Troubleshooting / FAQ

Welcome to the smarter looking PCU website featuring a better layout. We have improved the old site by adding a more intuitive menu and navigation system. This allows you to find the information you’re looking for much more easily and quicker.

We have compiled a list of Frequently Asked Questions about the new site.

1. The Internet Banking Menu looks broken.

Internet Bankings menu looks broken

This issue effects some browsers which have saved images from our previous Internet Banking site in the Browser Cache.

The Cache is a type of browser memory which stores images from websites you regularly visit. This allows browsers to serve websites you revisit much quicker because it doesn’t need to download the images every time you visit.

In some cases with Internet Banking, browsers are displaying old images from the cache. To solve this issue you’ll need to clear your cache.

Step by step instructions on how to clear your browser cache are available here:

2. The website doesn’t seem to be working. I’m using Internet Explorer 6.

If you are using Internet Explorer 6 (IE6) the new PCU website might not work as intended.

IE6 is now 14 years old, and a security risk. IE6 is unsupported by Microsoft and unable to display a lot of popular websites, including Facebook, Youtube and the new PCU website.

IE6 is also unable to withstand simple and unsophisticated security attacks, putting you and your privacy at risk. It is because of this issue we have decided to no longer support IE6. We have Members best interests at heart, and therefore can’t knowingly allow ourselves to support software which places Member’s privacy and personal details at risk.

While IE browsers 7 or higher will support our new website, we strongly recommend you update your browser to the latest version of Google Chrome or Firefox (these both work on all operating systems). Both browsers are free and incorporate the latest security technology and are updated regularly to keep ahead of ongoing threats. Both will also provide a more enjoyable online experience.

You can download Google Chrome from http://www.google.com/chrome
You can download Firefox from http://www.mozilla.org/firefox/new/

3. I can’t seem to find where to login to Internet Banking.

You now are able to login to internet banking from every page of our new website, including the home page (see image below). At the top of every page next to the search bar are links to Internet Banking.

You can also access internet banking from the login button on http://www.pcu.com.au/account-access/internet-banking/

As well, buttons in the left menu are present on most product pages.
